TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Japan's finance minister said Tuesday it is too early to comment on candidates seeking to replace former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
"We are not yet at a stage to evaluate those individuals" looking to take the helm at the 187-member international lender, Yoshihiko Noda said at a news conference after a regular Cabinet meeting.
Strauss-Kahn resigned as managing director of the IMF last week amid allegations he abused a maid at a hotel.
